India Day Parade, Celebration Set For Aug. 11 In Naperville

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville will celebrate the anniversary of India's independence with an India Day Parade and Celebration slated for Aug. 11. Presented by Indian Community Outreach, festivities include a live concert with performances from Salim Sulaiman and Shankar Mahadevan, a vendor bazaar, a food court and much more.

At 11 a.m., the parade will step off from Naperville North High School, just before the celebration begins at Rotary Hill. Attendees can watch a fashion show, see performances of traditional Indian dances and purchase a variety of international cuisine.

Cultural performances will kick off at 2 p.m. and shows start on the main stage at 5:30 p.m.

There will also be a kids' area, a health fair and a car show to round out the day's offerings.
