Barry Cilman, 80.

Service Wednesday 2PM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd., (at Niles Center Road) Skokie.

Barry Cilman, 80, lived a life well-lived and passed peacefully on Sunday January 21, 2024. He now rejoins the love of his life, the late Madeline Cilman nee Graff who he was lovingly married to for 37 years -- they can now be together in eternal peace. Born in Rochester, New York, Barry attended SUNY Buffalo before joining the United States Army. He was honorably discharged in 1968. In 1983, Barry spotted the love of his life from across a bar. After a few failed attempts, Barry won her over and spent the next 37 years together as a force to be reconned with. Later in life, Barry, lovingly called “Papa” by his family and grandchildren, was held in high esteem by all who met him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed and will forever be loved. He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith and is survived by his loving children: of Richard (Joan) Rieger, Marcy Rieger and Lauren (Tim) Palmer. He is also survived by his grandchildren Josh (Rachael) Schmaren, Max (Kara) Schmaren, Sam Schmaren, Karly (Shawn) Pusara, Tatum and Ben Cappel, Rachel Rieger, Brandon Rieger, Georgie Palmer and Mia Palmer. He will also be remembered as the proud great-grandfather of Wyatt, Graham and Marni, brother of Janice Weintraub, and fond companion of Cookie Stagman.
