Chicago Youth Orchestra - AUDITIONS for Fall '23

Chicago Youth Orchestra (CYO) located in Clarendon Hills, IL has three exciting events coming up: Youth Orchestra Auditions, Chamber Music Auditions, and the Concerto Competition. CYO provides opportunities for young musicians to showcase their skills and talents, and helps them to develop important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and confidence.

Youth Orchestra Auditions for Fall '23 – JUNE 11, JUNE 25, 2023
Chicago Youth Orchestra Auditions are open to all orchestral instruments, ages 7-18 years old and will be holding Auditions via Video Submission. This is a great opportunity for young musicians to join a dynamic ensemble and perform a wide range of music, from classical to contemporary. The Youth Orchestra provides a supportive and challenging environment where young musicians can grow and develop their musical skills.

* Instruments: All Strings, Winds, Brass, Percussion (including piano)
* Repertoire – One piece/movement – level appropriate (up to 5 min)
* Minimum of two years of instruction/playing experience on their instrument

Chamber Music Auditions for Fall '23 – JUNE 11, JUNE 25, 2023
AYSO Chamber Music Auditions are open to all orchestral instruments, ages 7-18yrs old and will be holding Auditions via Video Submission. This is a unique opportunity for young musicians to participate in small ensemble performances and develop their skills in chamber music. Chamber music provides a different type of musical experience compared to large ensembles, as it requires close collaboration and teamwork among the musicians.

Concerto Competition - Deadline – DECEMBER 18, 2023
The AYSO Concerto Competition is open to all AYSO students - December 18th. This competition provides an opportunity for young musicians to showcase their solo performance skills and compete for the chance to perform with the AYSO Youth Orchestra. This is a great way for young musicians to challenge themselves and further develop their performance skills.
