Karen M. Goldblatt nee Markus, 82

Karen M. Goldblatt nee Markus, 82, passed away in the early morning hours of June 29, 2024 with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Herbert P. Goldblatt. The proud matriarch of her family - she was the loving mother to Mitchell Goldblatt, a businessman, and Jill (Dr. Maxim) Chasanov (Goldblatt), a registered nurse. Cherished Nana Karen to Chanel, an attorney in the District of Columbia, Dior (Joseph) Serio, a medical administrator in Chicago, David, a television news reporter in Oklahoma City, OK, and Michael, an incoming senior and baseball player at the City College of New York. Karen and her family were very appreciative for the help and care of her devoted caregiver, Aristotle. Dear sister of Dr. Norman (Dr.Donalee) Markus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ida and David Markus as well as her husband, Herbert P. Goldblatt. Karen was also appreciative of the long time friendships she had throughout her life. Karen most recently lived in Boynton Beach, Florida, and formerly of Northbrook, Illinois. She was a proud Chicago Public School teacher for over 40 years and a lifetime member of Hadassah. Most of all, Karen loved her family. She looked forward to every moment spent together, especially the times spent celebrating the Jewish holidays. Every Sunday she would get together with family for dinner to catch up and play Rummikub. She loved talking with her children and grandchildren regularly.
