North Suburban YMCA Opens Summer Camp Registration

Camp Open House Scheduled for January 10, 2024 from 10am – 12pm

Registration is now open for the North Suburban YMCA acclaimed Summer Camps. The Camp Guide, is filled with dozens of exciting new day camps for children in preschool through junior high and can be viewed online CLICK HERE.

NSYMCA camp programs provide a safe, nurturing, and creative environment to support the development of each child. Y camps offer fun, active experiences that promote friendships, confidence, and curiosity. Campers also take full advantage of the Y’s indoor pool, large gym, outdoor sports fields, and playground. Many programs also include weekly field trips to exciting venues around the Chicago suburbs.

The 2024 Camps feature a host of traditional camps as well as new programs including:

  • Specialty Camps - Craft-tastic, Fantasy World, Young Inventors, Little Veterinarians, Video Game Party Truck, and Sew Much Fun.
  • Culinary Camps with Chef Rachel who returns with five total sessions of culinary camp adventures.
  • Dance Camp & Cheer Camp led by the Y Performing Arts and Sports Departments. Each session ends with a performance showcase.
  • Full Day Field Trip Camps - Water Park, Chicago Trotters, Y On the Fly, and Ultimate Adventure camp.

The registration process changed this year, accommodating existing Y members and giving them extra time to register before it opens to new members and non-members. The new 2024 Camp Registration Timeline shown here:

12/01/23 – “Active” Member Camp Registration Begins - members who have a current NSYMCA membership as of 10/1/23 and all prior memberships.

01/02/24 – “New” Member Camp Registration Begins - anyone who has an active NSYMCA membership after 10/2/23.

02/01/24 – Non-Member Camp Registration Begins

Additionally, families will have the opportunity to visit the Y Camp Open House on January 6, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., located at 2705 Techny Road in Northbrook. The Summer Camp Open House offers families the chance to meet staff members as they explore the facility and learn about the wide variety of Y summer camp programs. There will also be a bounce house for preschoolers, a craft station, and games.

All camp activities are run by highly trained counselors under the leadership of the Y’s experienced professional staff. Camp Director Ricky Gonzalez is preparing for his fifth summer at the North Suburban YMCA and brings over 16 years of camp management experience to his role overseeing all Y camp programs.

“Our camps are designed with families in mind,” notes Gonzalez. “Many parents come back every year because they know that their children are in a safe and supportive environment, and our scheduling options make it easy to accommodate work and travel schedules. Plus, we truly strive to provide new, creative camps for children to learn and grow.”

NSYMCA Summer Day Camps begin on June 10, 2024. Payment plans and scholarships are available for Y members. Registration is open now and camps are filling up fast.
