Northbrook Obituary: Joyce Booth

The former Northbrook and Highland Park resident was a "role model" for her family, who passionately fought for women's rights.

Joyce Booth (Lebovitz) passed away on Oct. 26. A Northbrook resident since 2005, she lived in Highland Park before that beginning in 1963, according to family.

Booth is survived by her son, Howard (Debbie) Booth, and her daughter, Rachel Booth.She was the proud grandmother to Alexandra and Mitchell Booth and Megan and Benjamin Wells. She was the sister of the late Joel (Julie) Lebovitz and devoted daughter of Sam and Minnie Lebovitz. She was the loving aunt (Marnie) and a loving cousin to the Ross family. Joyce was married to Roy Booth for nearly 40 years.

Joyce worked in the travel, hospitality and furniture industries. She was also passionate about Israel and equal rights for women. She followed political campaigns closely and contributed to many women candidates. Her activism was a wonderful role model for the family.

She will be dearly missed and will always be in the hearts of her family and those closest to her. Arrangements for memorial service to follow.
