NORTHBROOK, IL — Though Andy Kaufman died nearly 40 years ago, he is still receiving honors and 2023 has been especially eventful. The actor and comedian was inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame in March and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in August.

Kaufman's sister, Carol Kaufman Kerman, will be telling stories and anecdotes about her famous brother in a special luncheon on Nov. 8, hosted by the Northbrook Park District. The event, which runs from noon to 2 p.m., at the Leisure Center, 3323 Walters Ave., is open to ages 18 and up.

Kaufman, who starred in the hit television show, "Taxi," as Latka Gravas, had his life story depicted on the silver screen in 1999's "Man on the Moon." Jim Carrey played Kaufman in the film and won a Golden Globe for the performance. Kaufman also appeared on "Saturday Night Live" and "The Tonight Show" during his career before dying of lung cancer at the age of 35 in 1984.
