Annual Community Event at the North Suburban YMCA on February 25

Northbrook, IL, August 2023 - The Village of Northbrook’s Community Commission is excited to once again present the Northbrook Cultural Fair on Sunday, February 25 in partnership with the North Suburban YMCA. If you are an individual or member of a cultural organization that would like to participate, please visit https://www.northbrook.il.us/FormCenter/Commissions-15/Northbrook-Cultural-Fair-Interest-Form-103 or call 847-664-4015.The event runs from 3 pm – 5 pm at the Y, located at 2705 Techny Road in Northbrook and is free and open to the public. The 2023 event attracted over 300 participants throughout the 2-hour event. The event is set up in a fair format that will include artistic displays, musical acts, dance demonstrations, samples of food, and educational/informational tables.

“We are honored to once again host the Northbrook Community Commission’s Cultural Fair and value our partnership with them” said Kim Nyren, Director of Community Investments and Events at the NSYMCA. “This year promises to provide our community with a meaningful, educational, and fun experience for all ages. We are proud to be a home for the community to learn, experience, and appreciate the strength of our diversity.”

Jennifer Saperstein, Chairperson of the Northbrook Community Commission, “We are thrilled to continue the Northbrook Cultural Fair,” states Saperstein, “Last year’s event was a tremendous success with over 300 attendees and 27 participating cultural groups. This year, we hope that even more groups will be able to attend and showcase their unique backgrounds.” New this year, organizers are planning to allow participants to sell items. Saperstein continues, “We had one or two vendors selling items last year – something we hadn’t considered before – and are planning on communicating that opportunity to all participating groups for this year’s event.”
