Man Killed Thursday Night In Rockford: Police

Rockford Police said a man died Thursday after officers found him lying on the sidewalk with several gunshot wounds.

Police said someone called them at 6:40 p.m. to report multiple shots fired at the intersection of 11th Street and 6th Avenue.

ROCKFORD, IL — Rockford Police said a man died Thursday after officers found him lying on the sidewalk with several gunshot wounds.

Police said someone called them at 6:40 p.m. to report multiple shots fired at the intersection of 11th Street and 6th Avenue.

"Upon arrival, officers located a 19-year-old male lying on the sidewalk, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds," police said. "He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries."
