Demolition starts today at Page Park School. Bricks will be available to the public beginning Monday, Dec. 20. A limited number of bricks will be in a pile outside the construction fence, first come first served.
Demotion is expected to start in January at Stiles Elementary School once demolition is complete at Page Park.

Stiles, 315 LaClede Ave., closed at the end of the 2010-11 school year along with a handful of other schools to help maximize the district’s efficiencies. Page Park, 5949 Safford Road, was most recently rented by the Regional Office of Education and used as an alternative learning site.
The Rockford School Board agreed at its Nov. 9 meeting to award demolition work for the former Stiles and Page Park sites to Northern Illinois Service Co. for $329,790.
