This annual event is a celebration of arts in Rockford and across the district. Fine Arts Week started in 2018 to highlight fine arts in our community.
Last year’s event included several virtual events because of the ongoing health crisis. This year, more in-person events are planned for RPS 205 students, staff and families. Learn more below or visit the Fine Arts Week web page.

High school students from Auburn, East, Guilford and Jefferson bands, orchestra and choirs will spend the day in rehearsals at the Coronado Performing Arts Center. They will work under the direction of guest clinicians: Paul LaPrade, professor and conductor at Rock Valley College; TJ Mack, the fine arts department chair at Rockford Christian School; and Rachel Handlin, the string program director at The Music Academy in Rockford.
High school and middle school theatre students will be at the Burpee Museum of Natural History with a freelance writer and storyteller. Students will learn, create and participate in the art of storytelling.
High school visual arts students will be at Rock Valley College to participate in art workshops under the direction of Rock Valley professors Matthew Vincent, Jeanne Ludeke and Lynn Fischer-Carlson.
Artwork from RPS 205 students from all grade levels will be displayed for a gallery walk from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Stewart Square, 117 S. Main St.; Veterans Memorial Hall, 211 N. Main St.; and 304 Main, a new art gallery venue at 304 Main St. A virtual video gallery will also display student artwork.

The RPS 205 Fine Arts Hall of Fame induction is Saturday, April 9 at the Radisson.
