WHEATON, IL — This November, Patch is celebrating "30 Days of Gratitude," stories about living with gratitude — in simple terms, a deliberate choice to see the goodness and joy in your life and to wish the same for your neighbors.

Living with gratitude is a matter of continually counting one's blessings while at the same time recognizing that the source of goodness in one's life is other people.

Earlier this month, we asked DuPage County residents to share who or what they were grateful for. Here's what your neighbors in and around DuPage County had to say.

"Your actions are so appreciated!"

"Most every morning my daily newspaper finds its way from the driveway near the street to my front porch. On rainy days it is safely tucked into the corner out of the rain. I've never 'caught' the kind neighbor doing this special delivery, but every time it happens I smile at the world. Whoever you are, your actions are so-o appreciated!"

"I'm lucky to be able to call her my friend!"

"My friend Nicole Baessler has brought so much kindness and laughter into my life since meeting her a little over a year ago. When our jobs brought us together I didn't know that she would become such a presence in my life. She is as thoughtful as she is funny and as trustworthy as she is fun. I'm lucky to be able to call her my friend!"

-Tamrin Navarro of Wheaton

"Thankful each day"

"Thankful each day for the teachers and support staff of our academy who go above and beyond every day in order to provide quality care for the children of the community!"

- Kiddie Academy of Bolingbrook

"Beyond grateful for my father and my mother."

"I am beyond grateful for my father and my mother who are the strongest people I have ever met. They worked tirelessly and gave up their own dreams in order for their children to realize their own. Their sacrifice and love has manifested in many ways. I have saved multiple lives and delivered babies on the ambulance thanks to their sacrifice. Their love and faith has helped me navigate this pandemic in the medical field. Their love and faith has made me strong. Gracias mama y papa. Los amo. Su hija-kiti."

-Crystal Nambo of Bolingbrook
