Brinkman 'Looking Forward' To New Role As Deputy Chief Of Woodridge PD

WOODRIDGE, IL — Dennis Brinkman is now the new Deputy Chief of the Woodridge Police Department. Brinkman was sworn in during Thursday's village board meeting.

After graduating from Western Illinois University and the Chicago Police Academy, Brinkman signed on to the Woodridge Police Department in 2000. In the past 24 years, he has worked as Patrol Sergeant, Community Outreach Sergeant and Special Projects Sergeant, according to a news release.

Brinkman was recognized as the village's employee of the year in 2023.

Of his new role as deputy chief, Brinkman told Patch, "I'm looking forward to continuing to serve the community in my new role, and I'm excited for the challenges that it will present."
