YORKVILLE, IL — The Yorkville Police Department recently provided Christmas presents to more than two-dozen children in the community during what the department calls one of their favorite traditions. For the second year, the Yorkville Police Department celebrated their Shop with a Cop event Wednesday, partnering with Yorkville Kiwanis, according to police.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, police said they brought gifts to the 28 children, instead of shopping in-store with them. The children who received gifts through Shop with a Cop were selected by Yorkville police officers or were referred to the department by community partners.
