Craft Beer And Indie Music Festival: Yorkville's 'Summer Solstice' June 23-24

Downtown Yorkville is transformed into a craft beer and indie music mecca for the 2017 'Summer Solstice' festival.

YORKVILLE, IL - Rogue Barrister Records and Three Angels Brewing is hosting its annual "Summer Solstice," a two day craft beer and indie music festival June 23 - June 25 along the Fox River in downtown Yorkville.

This years event will have multiple venues throughout downtown Yorkville including two stages on the Riverfront as well as The Law Office, Rowdy's and Casa Santiago, according to the festival organizers. Admission for a majority of music will be free of charge. With the purchase of $3 wristband guests can purchase beer and enjoy different venues all while enjoying drinks. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the wristband sales will be donated to a local charity.

Friday night - Aaron Lee Tasjan, Los Colognes, Erin Rae & The Meanwhiles, Dead Horses

Saturday - Cory Chisel, J-Council, Roger Hoover, The Speedbumps, Stone Ruckus, Young Jesus, Brent Brown and The Regular.

Local breweries on tap will include: Three Angels Brewing, Ale Syndicate, Founders, Pollyanna, Solemn Oath, Brooklyn Brewing and more.

The event is also partnering with the State Champion Yorkville Cross Country program for a Friday night Solstice four mile road race / two mile walk commencing and finishing right in the center of downtown Yorkville. Registration costs are $35 for the run and $25 for the walk which includes one solstice token (redeemable for a drink or food offerings from participating vendors), a wristband for attendees 21 and older, and a t-shirt. Medals will be awarded for top finishers.

Additionally, there is a flotilla on the Fox River which will float from Oswego to Yorkville. Participants will meet at Freeman's in downtown Yorkville where buses will transport to the launch site in Oswego at 11 a.m. for a noon launch and the armada of canoes will land at the festival site at a time directly related to the ambition of the individual paddlers. Admission fees include a canoe, transportation, pizza donated by Rosati's pizza, and wristband for alcohol purchase.
