Portillo's Opens Indianapolis Location

Indianapolis Mayor Hogsett and Portillo's CEO Keith Kinsey hosted ribbon-cutting ceremony for new location which opened July 9.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Indianapolis-area residents or travelers now have another Portillo's location to visit when they want to enjoy Chicago-style food. The fast casual concept restaurant chain opened its newest location Monday at 8150 US-31 Indianapolis. As of 10:30 a.m., the newest Portillo's is open thanks to a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by CEO Keith Kinsey and Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett, according to a release from Portillo's.

The restaurant features a nostalgic Prohibition-themed interior, drawing décor inspiration from the 1920’s era. The 9,000-square foot restaurant will include seating for more than 200 guests, a seasonal outdoor patio, and double-lane drive-thru. Guests to the new Indianapolis location can enjoy all of Portillo’s classic menu items, including Chicago-Style Hot Dogs,Italian Beef Sandwiches, char-grilled burgers, fresh salads, and Portillo’s famous Chocolate Cake.

Portillo's said it partnered with two local community organizations - Greenwood Education Foundation and EmployIndy - to raise donations leading up to the restaurant's opening during the new location's sneak peek preview meals

Patch reported in April Portillo's announced a new location in Avon at 10444 E. U.S. Hwy. 36, set to open this fall. Portillo's says the Avon location follows spots in Merrillville, Fishers, Mishawaka, and the newly opened Indianapolis restaurant.
