First Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh Opens In Ankeny

Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh, a WOWorks brand and the nation’s leading fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant, recently opened its first Iowa location in Ankeny, replacing the former Simple Greek. The new restaurant is located at 1550 N. Ankeny Boulevard and will offer guests nutritious, flavorful meals that can be customized to accommodate a variety of health, wellness and dietary needs.

The new Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh is owned and operated by local couple Irangel and Julie Gonzalez. After serving the community with their Simple Greek for two years, the Gonzalez’s made the decision to reopen the state’s first Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh. With a similar but larger menu, the conversion allows the couple to continue to serve its loyal existing customers. The conversion will assist in broadening the customer base and their growth within the community.
