3 Teenage Girls Charged In Armed Robberies Of Ellicott City High School Students

Three teenage girls have been charged in the robberies of Ellicott City high school students, and in a Columbia carjacking, police said.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Three teenaged girls have been charged in the November robberies of two Centennial High School students and an unrelated robbery that happened three days later in the same Ellicott City neighborhood, police said.

The first robbery was reported at around 3 p.m. Nov. 8 in the 9700 block of Riverside Circle in Ellicott City. A boy said two girls with their faces covered threatened him with a gun, took his cell phone, then ran off.

About 5 minutes later, another boy said two people with their faces covered used a handgun to rob him in the 9800 block of Gwynn Park Drive in Ellicott City, according to Howard County Police.

Two 15-year-old girls and a 14-year-old girl from Baltimore were charged with the robberies.

The suspects also have been charged in connection to an attempted carjacking earlier on Nov. 8 in the 10300 block of College Square in Columbia.

Police continue to investigate whether additional suspects were involved, the department said.

On Nov. 11 in the 4000 block of Arjay Circle in Ellicott City, a woman reported that while unloading items from her vehicle at her home, two males with their faces partially covered approached her, pulled out a gun, stole her purse and fled. The woman was uninjured

An arrest warrant charged Samuel Fikru, 18, of Silver Spring, and a 15-year-old boy with armed robbery, assault and theft.

Police continue to investigate whether additional suspects were involved, the department said.
