AirTag, SmartTag Giveaway For Hyundai And Kia Owners In Howard County

Howard County residents can obtain an AirTag or SmartTag at a special giveaway event, while supplies last, hosted by the police department.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Hyundai and Kia owners in Howard County can snag a free Apple AirTag or Samsung Galaxy SmartTag while supplies last at a giveaway event Feb. 4.

To obtain a tag, residents must live in Howard County and present their driver's license and registration, plus proof of residency if the license and registration doesn't show a Howard County location.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Howard County Police Department Headquarters/Northern District Station, 3410 Courthouse Drive, Ellicott City.

"These tracking devices are intended to aid in locating and recovering stolen vehicles. Police do not have the ability to access location information. Residents are instructed to call 911 if their vehicle is stolen and provide information to police," the police department stated.

A limited number of steering wheel locks will also be available.
