Blaze At Columbia Apartment Building Damages Three Units: Fire Official

A fire broke out at a Columbia apartment building Wednesday, damaging three units, according to fire officials.

COLUMBIA, MD — Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, Howard County firefighters were called to a fire at an apartment building located in the 10500 block of Twin Rivers Road in Columbia.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found smoke coming from the third floor of the building. The fire was brought under control quickly, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

One resident was evaluated for possible smoke inhalation but declined going to the hospital. One apartment sustained fire and smoke damage, while two apartments experienced water damage. The fire is under investigation by the Maryland State Office of the Fire Marshal.
