Collision Avoidance Training Program In HoCo Accepting Applications From Young Drivers

The 2024 Collision Avoidance Training Program in Howard County is accepting applications from drivers ages 16 to 20 for the one-day session.

Participants in the C.A.T. Program must have a driver’s license and bring a vehicle to drive. The collision avoidance training session will be held at the James N. Robey Public Safety Training Center, 2200 Scott Wheeler Drive, Marriottsville.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The one-day 2024 Collision Avoidance Training Program designed to help younger drivers ages 16 to 20 better handle their vehicles in different scenarios is now accepting participant registrations.

The sessions, led by the Howard County Police Department, will teach hands-on techniques to help maintain control on the road including:

  • cornering
  • skid recovery
  • steering
  • acceleration
  • emergency breaking
  • evasive maneuvering
