Man Killed In 4-Vehicle Crash Along Route 1 In Laurel: Howard County Police

A man was killed Tuesday night in a crash involving four vehicles along Route 1 in Laurel, according to Howard County Police.

Tuesday night, a Chevy 1500 was traveling northbound on Route 1 when it crossed the median and hit a Pontiac Solstice that was traveling southbound. The Pontiac then hit a Hyundai Accent and debris from the collision hit a Toyota Camry, police report.

LAUREL, MD — Police are investigating a fatal collision involving four vehicles that happened in Laurel Tuesday night. Route 1 was temporarily closed in both directions between Whiskey Bottom Road and Maier Road for approximately four hours.

At approximately 9:44 p.m. Tuesday, a 1995 Chevy 1500 was traveling northbound on Route 1 just north of Country Meadows Lane when it crossed the median and hit a 2007 Pontiac Solstice that was traveling southbound. The Pontiac then hit a 2022 Hyundai Accent and debris from the collision hit a 2022 Toyota Camry, according to the Howard County Police Department.

The driver of the Pontiac Solstice, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two of the other drivers involved in the incident were taken to area hospitals. The names of the individuals involved in the crash have not yet been released by police.
