Sidewalk Project Will Shut Down Eastbound Snowden River Parkway

A sidewalk project along the east leg of the Snowden River Parkway/Berger Road intersection will cause temporary closures.

COLUMBIA, MD — A construction project to connect an existing sidewalk along a portion of Snowden River Parkway in Columbia should begin Aug. 6. The project calls for the installation of approximately 1,360 linear feet of temporary asphalt sidewalk between 9325 Snowden River Parkway and Berger Road.

ADA ramps, a crosswalk and a pedestrian signal also will be installed along the east leg of the Snowden River Parkway/Berger Road intersection. A future project to widen Snowden River Parkway will provide permanent sidewalk and related features.

Weather permitting, the project should be completed by late September 2021.

Signs will be posted in the area to direct traffic since the right lane of eastbound Snowden River Parkway will be closed at the site, as needed, during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
