Street Sweeping Crews Will Be Cleaning Roads In Howard County

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Now through Friday, Howard County Department of Public Works street sweeping crews will be out and about cleaning streets, weather permitting. Sweeping operations will take place weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sweepers will not pick up leaves and instead will avoid curb areas with lots of leaves.

The county’s street sweeping program is designed to help prevent street dirt from reaching the waterways and the Chesapeake Bay. Curbs are swept four times each year using brush sweepers and each year, approximately 1,200 tons of debris from more than 1,300 miles of curbs are removed.

The following areas will see street sweeping crews in their neighborhoods this week:
