Teen Shooting Victim Dies From Injuries, Reward For Information Offered: Howard Co. Police

A 17-year-old teen shot while in a vehicle in Columbia Sunday has died of his injuries. A reward of up to $5K has been offered in the case.

COLUMBIA, MD — The teenager shot and killed in a vehicle while traveling on Snowden River Parkway Sunday died of his injuries Monday. A reward of up to $5,000 has been offered for information in the case.

Natanael Rodriguez Cuxun, 17, of Arlington, Va., was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on Snowden River Parkway just south of Rustling Leaf at approximately 2:10 a.m. Jan. 21 when he was shot. Detectives believe the suspect fired several shots at his vehicle from another vehicle that then fled the scene. Cuxun was hit once; the other two occupants of the vehicle were uninjured, police said.

Caxun was taken to the hospital and originally listed in critical condition at University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center before dying the day after he was shot, police reported.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting, but do not believe it was random.
