Woman Fatally Hit By 2 Vehicles, Police Searching For 2nd Driver Who Fled The Scene

A woman was fatally hit by two vehicles. One driver fled the scene and police are asking area businesses to check their security cameras.

ELKRIDGE, MD — A woman crossing Route 1 near Doctor Patel Drive was hit by two vehicles, according to police, and the second driver who hit her fled the scene.

Around 6 a.m. Friday morning, a 1992 Ford Explorer was heading northbound on Route 1 when it fatally hit the woman whose identity has not been released by the police. That driver remained on the scene. A second dark-colored car also hit the woman, who was pronounced dead on the scene. That driver stopped briefly then left the scene before police arrived, according to the Howard County Police Department.
