Mobile Home Fire In Lothian Kills 71-Year-Old Man: Officials

A man died in a mobile home fire in Anne Arundel County, officials said. He was 71 years old.

LOTHIAN, MD β€” A man died Thursday in a mobile home fire in Lothian, county officials said.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department identified the victim as Thomas Reilly. The 71-year-old lived alone in the home, a press release said.

Officials said this was the county's sixth fire-related death of the year.

Neighbors called 911 around 9:45 a.m. to report the fire in the Patuxent Mobile Estates. First responders said they saw fire and smoke coming from the home's northeast side window.

Firefighters said they then found the victim dead in the bedroom where the blaze started.

A team of 38 said it controlled the one-alarm fire in less than 30 minutes, the release said.

Investigators have not yet identified the exact cause of the accidental blaze or estimated the value of the property lost.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department thanked the Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department and the Dunkirk Volunteer Fire Department for assisting its response.
