Defense Highway Shuts Down Aug. 16-Aug. 19 For Culvert Project

DAVIDSONVILLE, MD — The drainage culvert replacement project under MD 450 (Defense Highway) continues Aug. 16 through Aug. 19 with road closures in place during that timeframe.

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will replace culverts between The Ridges Gateway and Crownsville Road/South Haven Road in Crownsville. This section of MD 450 will be closed beginning Friday, Aug. 16, at 11:45 p.m. until Monday, Aug. 19, at 5 a.m.

When the culvert replacement is done, crews will pave and stripe the roadway. During the closure of MD 450, motorists will be rerouted to US 50/US 301 (John Hanson Highway) and MD 424 (Davidsonville Road.)
