Fatal Crash In Lothian Kills Bowie Man: Police

A fatal crash in Lothian killed a Bowie man, police said. He was 23 years old.

LOTHIAN, MD β€”A fatal Lothian crash killed a Bowie man this weekend, authorities said.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department identified the victim as 23-year-old Andrew Samir Steven Stewart. The other driver was not hurt.

Officers said the crash happened Saturday around 11:30 p.m. on northbound Maryland Route 4, also known as Southern Maryland Boulevard, near Talbot Road.

Stewart was changing lanes in his 2015 Ford sedan when the back of his car hit the front of a 2022 Chevrolet sedan, authorities said.

Police said the Ford lost control, rotated, left the roadway and hit a tree.

A Maryland State Police helicopter flew Stewart to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries, a press release said.

Officers said Stewart was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Anne Arundel County police are still investigating.
