Glen Burnie Man Charged In Boat Break-In Spree

A September 2017 traffic stop in Edgewater eventually led to police linking the suspect with the crimes.

ANNE ARUNDEL, MD β€” A traffic stop in Edgewater 11 months ago has led to the arrest of a Glen Burnie teen accused of stealing kayaks and committing other crimes in the Pasadena area.

Daniel Francisco Bohle, 19, faces 40 criminal charges, including trespassing, theft and burglary, Maryland Natural Resources Police and Anne Arundel County Police said.

The investigation began on July 31, 2017, when police began to receive reports of missing kayaks and vessel break-ins around Pasadena. Similar cases were reported throughout the summer and into the fall when police stopped a Dodge pickup truck in Edgewater.

The truck had distinctive markings and several items in its bed. Investigators saw the same truck, owned by Bohle, in surveillance video from several marinas. A cooler in the bed of the truck was linked back to a boat that had been ransacked earlier, investigators said.

Bohle turned himself in to authorities earlier this month and was released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 9.
