A 48-year-old Hughesville man has been charged with murder in the shootings of two rival funeral service workers at a Suitland cemetery during the burial of a gun violence victim. One person was killed by the gunshots.

Mother, Daughter Dismembered Grandmother With Chainsaw: Prosecutor

A 71-year-old Landover woman was killed and dismembered by her daughter and granddaughter, who then burned the body parts on a grill, according to prosecutors in court documents. Police officers who went to a home for a welfare check smelled the odor of a body decomposing.

A judge on Thursday denied bail to one of the drivers indicted earlier this week for her role in a March crash on the Baltimore Beltway that killed six highway workers, according to a report.

School Bus Driver Traumatized By Attempted Shooting Of Teen

Driver Natalie Brower was behind the wheel of a school bus where three teenage boys attacked and attempted to shoot a teen passenger. Video of the attack shows a teen holding a gun to the victim’s head and chest while his two accomplices hold the victim down, police said. All three teens then beat the victim and fled. “This has changed my whole life,” Natalie Brower told WTOP.

Bear Spotted In University Park Following Other Area Sightings

A black bear was spotted in a yard in University Park. City officials have warned residents to use caution when walking dogs or being outside while the bear roams around town. Other bear sightings recently were in Hyattsville, Howard County, Catonsville and Windsor Mill.

Two more Maryland school districts have filed lawsuits against social media companies, claiming their products are detrimental to students' mental health. The defendants in the lawsuit are Meta, Google, ByteDance and Snap Inc. — the parent companies behind Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and Snapchat.

A car smashed into the side of Peter's Grill in Rockville early Wednesday night. Two adults were taken to area hospitals to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The owner said the wall was boarded up after the car was removed and the restaurant was open for business on Thursday morning.
