DAVIDSONVILLE, MD — John E. Parker "JP", 74, died on Thursday, September 29, at his home in Davidsonville. JP was born on January 25, 1942 in Washington, DC and raised by the late Ellen and Merrick Stamp.

JP worked for A&P Food Stores, J.E. Owens Contracting, Stockett's Excavating, and was presently employed by Aggtrans. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling to Lancaster County, PA and spending time with his family and friends.

JP is survived by his wife of 44 years, Anita Stockett Parker; his son, Jay M. Parker and his wife Kristi; his grandson, Henry Parker; his aunt, Shirley Bishop; and his cousins, Mabel Parker and Kathy Hill.

Friends are invited to celebrate JP's life from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm on Saturday, October 1 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater, where his funeral service will be held at noon on Sunday, Oct. 2.

Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
