MAYO ELEMENTARY is not a safe school

MAYO ELEMENTARY, DOES NOT CARE ABOUT CHILDREN BEING BULLIED.

Starting in mid October, 2018 my son William Arrington began to be bullied by one child in his grade.

This one child, a child of a teacher at Mayo Elementary had bullied my son to the point of causing him to be diagnosed with anxiety. Yes, I am telling you... my son was diagnosed with ANXIETY at the age of SEVEN.
Of course, needing more information behind this diagnosis the doctor and I talked about his upbringing, and his school. I brought the bullying to the doctors attention and he explained to me that the bullying at school was more than likely the cause of this diagnosis. I'm sure any parents reading this can only IMAGINE how I felt that day. Knowing that one child was effecting my child so much that he was now dealing with a lifelong diagnosis.

For over 4 months I, my mother, my siblings have been calling and complaining to teachers, administration, the principal, and the board of education... and NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE, I heard over and over "don't worry Mrs. Arrington we will handle this" and until just about a week ago.. NOT ONE THING CHANGED. My son came home day after day from school being very worked up over this ONE kid. This one child, the same age as my son... but this one child is a BULLY. Yet, everyone seeing this happen must be looking the other way. Not a surprise there. Considering the complete unprofessionalism being shown from all teacher and administration in that school.

But a little less than a month ago, after 4 plus months of calling and complaining almost daily... the bully had been removed from.... soccer time. That's all. But hey, I was being optimistic because at least they finally acted. FINALLY maybe my son could have some peace, and start enjoying school again.

I WAS COMPLETELY WRONG

Come to find out, the ONE child that was bullying my son had some back ups and now my son is being bullied worse then ever by several children.

Now I'm remember over 4 months of calling Mrs. Berhinger, the principal Mrs. Fitzgerald, and filing report after report through the board of education.... and not seeing anything change. Not seeing any improvement, when they were only supposed to handle ONE child at that point. Now there are several children bullying my son so I am not sure they will do anything about this.

TODAY, they proved their abundantly clear level of incompetence. (And that was the nicest way to say how they run that school)

I called Mrs. Berhinger today, I asked to speak to a specific teacher and I was told "No, she's not involved so let's not bring in people that don't have to be"
Well, me as a parent am thinking... this is my child, and I should be allowed to speak to whomever I choose to speak to... ESPECIALLY when this is concerning the SAFETY OF A STUDENT.

I HAVE NEVER in my entire life been so worried about my child, and the worst part about all of this is.... children are supposed to feel safe in school. And now, my son (a perfect attendance/honor student) BEGS me not to make him go to school.

So please, someone tell me what to do? MAYO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HAD FAILED MY CHILD. MAYO ELEMENTARY HAS FAILED THEIR JOB TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND SECURE ENVIRONMENT FOR MY CHILD.

So All parents with children that attend MAYO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, talk to your kids. Find out what's going on. And file complaints until you get your justice.

My son, and no child deserves to feel unsafe at school. So it needs to be fixed.
