Snow Totals In Anne Arundel: South County Bears Brunt Of Storm

The first snow of the season dumped nearly a foot on some parts of Anne Arundel. Here are the snow totals from around the county.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD β€” The first snow of the year coated Anne Arundel County on Monday. The storm rolled in before sunrise and left the area by early afternoon.

The precipitation was a fine powder without any ice. That made for a fluffy snow that piled high across the region.

Southern Anne Arundel County tallied nearly a foot, the National Weather Service reported. The northern portion of the county escaped with slightly less.

Waldorf, Charles County posted the highest total in Maryland with 11.6 inches. Glendie, Virginia recorded the most snowfall in the DMV with its 13.4 inches.

  • Fort George G. Meade: 7.5 inches

  • Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport: 6.8 inches
  • Chelsea Beach: 5.9 inches

Anne Arundel County Public Schools canceled Monday classes. Leaders also closed some COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinics. Annapolis similarly declared a snow emergency and asked locals to remove their cars from snow routes.
