Anne Arundel Basketball Player Nominated For All-American Game

An Anne Arundel basketball player was nominated for the McDonald's All-American Game. Maryland had the fourth most nominees of any state.

HARWOOD, MD — An Anne Arundel County basketball player was nominated on Jan. 12 to participate in the McDonald's All-American Game. This annual showcase offers a national stage for collegiate basketball recruits.

The athlete, Larry Bulluck of Southern High School, was one of 44 Maryland nominees. That was the fourth most of any state.

Texas posted 83 nominees. California and Florida each tallied 73.

More than 760 hoopers earned the honor from across the country. These players were nominated by coaches, athletic directors, principals or selection committee members.

The all-star game will reveal its final girls and boys rosters Tuesday on ESPN’s “NBA Today” show between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. These 24-player squads will then compete in Chicago's Wintrust Arena on March 29.

The girls' game will air at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN 2. The boys' game will follow at 9 p.m. on ESPN.

This will be the 45th McDonald's All-American Game. Previous participants include:

  • LeBron James
  • Maya Moore
  • Trae Young
  • Breanna Stewart

"It’s great to celebrate these players who are proudly representing their high schools, families and hometowns," said Derrick Taylor, an owner and operator and the Black McDonald’s Operators Association lead for Chicago. "As a big basketball fan myself, and on behalf of McDonald’s owner/operators across the country, we can’t wait to see the top 48 high school players take the court this March."
