Southern Maryland Artists Invited To Submit Work For Contest

Southern Maryland artists are invited to submit artwork to be considered for possible inclusion in an open all-media juried exhibition.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD β€” Artists are invited to submit their artwork for possible inclusion in the Southern Maryland Art Open All-Media Juried Exhibition. The theme this year is "Southern Maryland Art."

For purposes of the exhibition, Southern Maryland is defined as west of the Chesapeake Bay, south of Rt. 50 (D.C. to Annapolis) and outside I-95/I-495 Beltway. To qualify for the exhibit, each entry must be an original work relating to the Southern Maryland theme and must have been created after Sept. 30, 2018.

The exhibit will run Friday, Sept. 20, through Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Art Center located in Smallwood State Park. Artwork previously shown at the gallery within the past 12 months is not eligible. Artists must be 18 years or older. Artwork exceeding 6 feet in any dimension or weighing more than 40 pounds or needing installation requires prior approval. Artwork will be judged on quality and relevance to the Southern Maryland theme. The winner will receive $1,000.
