Stabbing At Edgewater Restaurant Sends Male To Hospital: Police

A stabbing at an Edgewater restaurant sent a male to the hospital, police said. Officers are still looking for the suspect.

EDGEWATER, MD β€” A recent stabbing at an Edgewater restaurant sent a male to the hospital, county police said.

Officers said the victim suffered minor injuries. Authorities expect him to survive.

Police said they responded Monday just after midnight to the 1000 block of Norman Drive in Annapolis for the first-degree assault that happened earlier.

Officers said they then learned that the victim got in a fight earlier in the evening with another male at Los Chaparritos Authentic Latin Food.

Authorities said the male reported that he was eating dinner at the restaurant, located at 3029 Solomons Island Road, when an unknown man approached him.

The suspect looked intoxicated and acted aggressively toward the victim and his friends, police said.

The victim told officers that he and the suspect exchanged words and agreed to go to the parking lot to "settle it," a press release said.

The victim stated that the suspect stabbed him once in the abdomen while they walked out of the business, the release said.

Authorities said they are still looking for the suspect, who fled. Detectives described the suspect as a Hispanic man between 30 and 35 years old who stood 5 feet tall and had a slight build. He wore a tan sweatshirt and blue jeans.
