WEST RIVER, MD — Three Anne Arundel County collegiate soccer players have been named to the All-Maryland JUCO women's soccer teams. They currently play for Anne Arundel Community College. Sophomores Alessandra Gargano of Linthicum and Hannah Hopkins of West River earned second team honors, while sophomore Sudy Choc-Ramirez of Brooklyn Park was named honorable mention.

Gargano started all 14 games at defense, anchoring the Riverhawks’ back line in addition to providing backbone to the transition game. Gargano scored four goals and added an assist. She recorded a career-high five points on two goals and an assist in a win at Hagerstown on Sept. 17. The honor marks the second of Gargano’s career; she earned second team All-MDJUCO in 2018.

Hopkins was a key playmaker in AACC’s midfield, starting all 14 games. She scored the lone goal in a loss to Essex on Sept. 6, had a pair of assists in a win against Catonsville on Sept.27. She added a goal in a win against Potomac State on Oct. 5.

Choc-Ramirez started every game in which she played, totaling 11 points on four goals and three assists. She scored two goals - including the game-winner - in a win against the College of Southern Maryland on Sept. 12. She picked up an assist against FIT and followed with a goal and an assist in a win at Hagerstown on Sept. 17. She scored her fourth goal of the season in a win over Potomac State on Oct. 5. AACC wrapped up the year at 7-7 with an appearance in the Region XX Semifinals.
