Victoria Vox/Ruut/Kipyn Martin-In-the-Round at Cellar Stage

Baltimore Songstresses share stage at Faith Community UMC.

Uptown Concerts presents three of the area’s premiere singer-songwriters in a unique in-the-round performance Friday January 8th, 8:00 pm at the Cellar Stage, Faith Community United Methodist Church, 5315 Harford Road in Hamilton.

Victoria Vox has been toting her ukulele around the globe since 2006. A graduate of the Berklee School of Music, Vox has become known for her “mouth-trumpet” (as seen on the Jay Leno Show), a jazz-era vocal technique. Her accolades include the Mountain Stage NewSong People’s Choice Award and being named Artist-in-Residence at the Strathmore Performing Arts Center.

Born in Finland, Ruut grew up traveling in Europe with her sisters and missionary mother before settling in the United States. She discovered she could play piano by ear and started composing original songs at age 7. Her new album ”Untold Stories” is scheduled for release in early 2016.

Kipyn first won international attention by being named a semi-finalist in the 2013 UK Song Contest and she has been touring this past year in Joan & Joni, a tribute to Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell, with her musical partner Allison Shapira.
