EDGEWATER-DAVIDSONVILLE, MD β€” Many government services change their hours around holidays. Here is what's opened and closed in the Edgewater-Davidsonville area for Independence Day, which is on Monday, July 4.

Schools: Anne Arundel County Public Schools and central offices will be closed on Monday. The school calendar is available at this link.

Government Offices: Anne Arundel County and City of Annapolis government offices will be closed Monday.

Courts: Courts will be closed Monday. Court hours are listed here.

In Annapolis, the Pip Moyer Recreation Center and the Stanton Community Center will be closed Monday. The Stanton Community Center is also closed every Sunday. The Pip Moyer Recreation Center is open daily except on certain holidays. The Kenneth R. Dunn Municipal Pool at Truxtun Park will be open Monday with reduced hours. Those hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Libraries: The Anne Arundel County Public Library will be closed Sunday and Monday. A full list of library hours and contact information is posted here.

Post Offices: Post offices will be closed Sunday and Monday.

Trash And Recycling: All landfills and recycling centers will be closed Monday. Curbside collection normally scheduled for Monday will occur Tuesday. Tuesday collection will happen Wednesday A schedule of all Anne Arundel County trash and recycling operations is available here.

City of Annapolis trash pickup will also push Monday collection to Tuesday. Tuesday collection will happen on Wednesday. There will not be any bulk metal collection on Wednesday. Anybody with questions about the city's trash removal should contact Annapolis Public Works.

Buses: City of Annapolis transit will not operate this Monday. Annapolis will run a shuttle bus on the 4th of July between Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and Lawyer’s Mall from 4:30 p.m. to midnight for the city's fireworks.

These county lines will not operate on Monday:

  • Walmart Shopper Shuttle
