ROCKVILLE, MD — With schools closed, events canceled and some government offices delaying their opening times due to the big winter storm earlier this week, Rockville residents frolicked in the snow.

Patch reached out to our readers in Maryland and asked them to send us photos showing their experiences dealing with the season's first big snow fall. You'll find all of their submissions below.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for most of Maryland from 4 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday.

The new storm will bring widespread snow, especially Friday morning. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected in portions of central and southern Maryland on Friday. Residents should plan on slippery road conditions that will affect the morning commute, the NWS said.

With this new round of winter weather coming our way, Patch will be accepting snow photos throughout the weekend. If you are stuck at home due to the snowstorm, you can email submissions to [email protected].
