$50K Win On MD Lottery Scratch-Off Ticket Stuns Rockville Man

ROCKVILLE, MD — A Rockville man who described himself as a Maryland Lottery scratch-off enthusiast recently won the top prize in the $50,000 game on a ticket he purchased at a local beer and wine store.

“I was stunned. I didn’t believe it,” the winner told lottery officials, when he redeemed his prize. “I always thought it wasn’t possible for me to win a top prize. I play so often but it never mattered to me.”

The man purchased the winning $50,000 Cash scratch-off at Ollie’s Beer, Wine & Deli, which is located at 2011 Veirs Mill Road. Once he realized his ticket was a winner, he raced home to share the news with a close friend.

When asked what we was going to do with his winnings, the man told lottery officials that he was just going to pay some bills and help out his family.

For selling the winning $50,000 Cash scratch-off ticket, Ollie’s Beer, Wine & Deli will receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.

The $50,000 Cash game debuted in December 2022. Eight-four top prizes remain to be won, as well as 93 $5,000 prizes and others ranging from $20 to $150.
