67th Annual Montgomery County Fair: When to Go, Parking, Tickets

The rides, the animal exhibits, the food – it all kicks off Friday, Aug. 14, when the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair opens in Gaithersburg.

Tickets are on sale, general admission cost is $10 for adults, while kids 11 and younger can get in at no charge. Free parking is available at Lakeforest Mall, with a shuttle running to the fairgrounds.

To park on the fairgrounds, use the Perry Parkway entrance. The cost is $10 (cash) per car.
Fair hours are:

• Aug. 14: Fair and carnival open from 3 p.m. to midnight; carnival open.
• Aug. 15-22: Fair open from 10 a.m. to midnight, carnival open noon to midnight.

A carnival one-day megapass ride wristband can be purchased at guest services ticket stations in the carnival area for $20, or on the fair website. Or four-ride tickets can be purchased for $5 in the carnival area only.

There’s all kinds of free entertainment at the fair. A quick rundown on the free grandstand acts:

• Skid Steer Rodeo, Friday, Aug. 14, 7:30pm
• Draft Horse Pull, Saturday, Aug. 15, 6pm
• Draft Horse And Mule Show, Sunday, Aug. 16, 8:30am
• Truck Pull, Tuesday, Aug. 18, 7:30pm

Paid Grandstand Events:

• Interstate Truck And Tractor Pull: Monday, Aug. 17, 7:30 p.m., competing tractors pull weighted sleds and the farther the tractor goes the resistance progressively gets greater.
• Monster Truck Madness: Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 7:30pm and Thursday, Aug. 20, at 7:30pm. The following trucks will perform for both nights: Illuminator, Bounty Hunter, Scarlet Bandit Or Iron Outlaw, Equalizer, Stinger, Toxic, and Red Solo Truck.
• Demolition Derby “Night Of Destruction”: Friday, Aug. 21, and Saturday, Aug. 22, 7:30 p.m. both nights
