ROCKVILLE, MD — For those looking to adopt a pet, a great place to look for your new family member is at Montgomery County's adoption center. The facility houses dozens of cats, dogs, and other adorable critters. And all of them need a furever home.

Here, we've rounded up a list of five adoptable pets for a series called "Patch's Adoptable Pets of the Week." This week, we're featuring Pepperoni, Scoob, Bambi, Leo, and Lucita.

Due to COVID-19, the facility is open for adoptions by appointment only. Click here for instructions on how appointments work.

Age: Approx. 3 months old.
Arrived at Shelter: Oct. 25, 2020.

Shelter staff made the following comments about this animal: Pepperoni was found in a box on the side of the highway by a good samaritan who brought him to us for a second chance at life! Pepperoni is now healthy and big enough to find a forever home as a pet.

His personality has blossomed at the Adoption Center! His favorite things are chewing on shoes, chin scratches (he'll literally fall right over and start kicking his leg), eating, and snuggling REALLY deep into the blankets for naps. He's a cuddler and really enjoys people! Pepperoni is easy going and has stolen the hearts of every staff member who's met him.

Pepperoni is cute and small right now, but is not a pot-bellied breed! He is more likely a Gloucestershire, and will likely be over 800 lbs when full-grown, and will need to live on a farm (zoned for agriculture) with appropriate pig-fencing.

We will also require his adopter to fund his neuter.
