Back To School: Rockville 2023-24 School Calendar

ROCKVILLE, MD — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Rockville with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Rockville for students in Montgomery County Public Schools.

The first day of school for most students in Rockville is Aug. 28.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

• Aug. 21-28: Professional days for teachers
• Aug. 28: First day of school for students
• Sept. 4: Labor Day - all schools and offices are closed
• Sept. 22: Early release for students of all schools
• Sept. 25: Non-instructional day - no school for students and teachers at all schools
• Oct. 9: Professional day for all staff - no school for students at all schools.
• Nov. 1: Grading and planning for the end of the term - no school for students at all schools.
• Nov. 20: Early release for students of all schools
• Nov. 21: Early release for students of all schools
• Nov. 22: Systemwide closure - all schools and offices closed for all schools
• Nov. 23: Thanksgiving - all schools and offices closed
• Nov. 24: Thanksgiving - all schools and offices closed
• Dec. 25: Holiday - all schools and offices closed
• Dec. 26-27: Winter Break - no school for students and teachers at all schools
• Dec. 28-29: Systemwide closure - all schools and offices closed
• Jan. 1, 2024: New Year's Day - all schools and offices closed

• May 14: Primary Election Day - all schools and offices closed

• June 19: Systemwide closure - all schools and offices closed
