Best Brunch Of The Year RAMMY Award Given To Rockville Eatery

SILVER SPRING, MD — Three Montgomery County eateries are recipients of RAMMY Awards, given to restaurants exhibiting culinary excellence and bringing superior food service to the D.C. region.

Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington's 40th annual RAMMY award winners were announced at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center Sunday night. The RAMMY awards are given to individuals and businesses demonstrating excellence in the DC region's food service industry. Award categories range from long-standing categories celebrating culinary excellence and pandemic-era categories recognizing the impacts to the food service industry.

Judges decided winners for most of the RAMMY categories, while the public voted on seven categories: Favorite Gathering Place of the Year, Favorite Fast Bites, Best Brunch of the Year, Outstanding Pop-Up Concept, Standout Family Meal Packages To Go, Splendid Holidays at Home and Hottest Sandwich Spot.

RAMMY awards are open to members of the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington, but publicly voted categories were open to any food service business in the D.C. region.

Several Montgomery County restaurants received RAMMY awards on Sunday, including A&J Restaurant, which serves Northern Chinese style dim sum at locations in Rockville, Maryland and Annandale, Virginia. The public voted the restaurant as the winner of the Best Brunch of the Year award.

Quarry House Tavern, which is located at 8401 Georgia Ave., in Silver Spring, was named the recipient of the Best Beer Program of the Year award.

In the Best Fast Bites category, Little Miner Taco received the most votes from the public. Starting as a D.C. area food truck, Little Miner operates food halls in North Bethesda and Brentwood in Maryland, and Woodbridge, Virginia.
