CCACC Charity Pickleball Tournament Was Successfully Held

CCACC Health Center 2024 Charity Pickleball Tournament Was Successfully Held

On June 1, 2024, CCACC Health Center successfully hosted the second annual Charity Pickleball Tournament at CCACC Sports, drawing numerous community members dedicated to the cause. The event aimed to raise funds for the "Promise Program," a six-week educational initiative collaboratively run by CCACC Health Center, the University of Maryland, the Chinese American Parents Association of Montgomery County (CAPA-MC), and community volunteers. This program focuses on helping special education children aged 4 to 14 enhance their life skills through a variety of activities, providing them with additional support and guidance in their learning and development journey.

The tournament was organized with the full support of CCACC board members Mr. Charles Chen and Mr. Terry Hsiao, attracting numerous pickleball enthusiasts. The competition commenced at 3:00 PM, and after intense preliminary rounds, the finals took place at 5:30 PM. Players gave their best on the court while the enthusiastic spectators cheered them on, creating a joyous atmosphere throughout the event. The venue also featured a variety of pleasant interaction and delicious food, allowing participants to enjoy the warm community spirit alongside the excitement of the matches.
CCACC Health Center extends special thanks to Mr. George C. Cabalu, a senior financial advisor at Wells Fargo Bank, for his title sponsorship of this charity pickleball tournament. Mr. Cabalu specializes in asset management for corporations and provides clients with estate planning, insurance, and retirement planning services. He shared that having grown up in the Asian community of Rockville, where his family benefited from CCACC's services, he has a deep connection to CCACC.
