The mission of CCACC Photo Club has been to improve each member’s technical and artistic photography skills. Various activities are organized all year round, including online and offline lectures, member work critiques, competitions and field trips to local historic parks, landmark buildings and scenic spots. The Club members’ works have received many positive feedbacks. These activities helped the members continue learning and practicing new photography concepts and techniques, draw inspiration from other photographers’ works, and enhance photography appreciation skills. Several members have even won awards in photography competitions including international ones.

Taking advantage of its location in the DC area and in the immediate vicinity of the US national capital, the Club has been actively promoting cultural exchanges between Chinese and American photographers, joining hands with other photography groups from various parts of the world to organize and attend photography knowledge sharing sessions and competitions. In 2018 and 2023, the Club hosted two joint events together with three other Chinese photo clubs in the DC area and has participated in photography exchanges with other photo clubs. Since 2020 the Club has organized three “Washington Cup” Mobile Photography Contests in collaboration with some other organizations in the DC area and also internationally. These contests have become widely impactful in helping to motivate aspiring artists from all over to sharpen their photographic skills, while serving as a platform for discourse and evaluation.
