History Made: Magruder Girls' Volleyball Wins First State Title

ROCKVILLE, MD — The Magruder High School women's volleyball team won its first state championship title ever on Saturday, beating Northern High School in the Maryland 3A final at Ritchie Coliseum in College Park, Md.

The Colonials finished their 25-0 undefeated season following Saturday's 15-25, 25-19, 25-19, ­25-20 win over the Patriots.

The first set was a little rocky, but the team was able to recover to clinch the title and make Magruder history.

"We've come a long way," senior outside hitter Kaliyah Moss told The Washington Post. "I don't know how to put this feeling into words."
