'Kumbia' Now Open In Rockville Town Square, Serving Latin Food

ROCKVILLE, MD — Kumbia, a Latin American restaurant, is now open in Rockville's Town Square, according to its Facebook page.

"We are excited to bring a unique Latin offering, to include exciting cocktails, beloved dishes and live music inspired by the variety of cuisines that represent South American food culture," the restaurant says on its website.

After a soft launch March 18, the eatery serving foods from Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil and Ecuador held its grand opening March 19. The plans to open were announced in September.

"We are excited to bring a unique Latin offering, to include exciting cocktails, beloved dishes and live music inspired by the variety of cuisines that represent South American food culture," said Steven Tobar, co-owner of Kumbia, in a news release when the opening was announced in September. "We look forward to joining the diverse collection of restaurants that make the neighborhood a great community dining destination."

Kumbia serves ceviches, chaufas, food from the grill, and a variety of appetizers. The restaurant has a variety of cocktails on the menu, including a Caipirinha, Kumbiaritas, a Kumbia Spritz and more.

Kumbia is open at 100 B Gibbs Street, Rockville MD 20850.
